How to freelense

Since I am getting some e-mails with questions on how to take photos, I decided to reveal one little advice on how to add a nice blur to your photos. It’s called “freelensing” and helps you get an effect close to the tilt-shift effect. You might be worried about dust on your sensor, but if you don’t move the lens too far away from it’s original position, nothing will happen. Here’s a little description and a couple of photos, where I tried it out myself.

Urban Art Forms Festival

Memo to myself: expired film doesn’t necessarily always have to turn out great. Mostly it does but this time, shooting two rolls at the Urban Art Forms Festival, most photos turned out crappy. It might be also the labs fault, but who cares now.

Anyway, here’s just a tiiiiny selection of the two days I spent at the festival.

Voila! It’s on!

I’ve finally made it. It’s sad but I had to get rid of the name “die melange” due to many reasons. After a lot of thinking I’ve decided to make “dariadaria” the new name of this blog. The old URL will still work, but the new domain is www.dariadaria.com! I picked that name because Daria is my third middle name and I think it sounds really unique.

Also I created a new design, I felt like I needed some more color. I still have to do some changes, but the major change has been done and I am happy to finally shut my damn computer down and enjoy my sunday afternoon, haha.

WROCLAW

Vro-tz-wav, vrahts-wahf, vrotz-lav, rotz-slarv! Damn it! I am giving up on pronouncing Wroclaw correctly. Not as “polished” and touristy as Krakow we spent two nights here. We had the best dinner ever at Restaurant Przystan and an amazing party on the rooftop of Hotel Monopol with all the super nice google people working in Wroclaw. I got a little sick after spending 15 zloty (!!), on M&M’s at 4 am in the morning and inhaling the whole pack. Of course, the next morning we had one of the top 3 worst hangovers of our lives but the great polish dumplings helped us recover fast. The old town was beautiful but I was more interested in side tracking and discovering “real” Wroclaw. Enjoy!
