WELCOME TO WONDERLAND

cupcakes, bubbles, sun, a quiet spot in the woods and amazing music… the material girl vöslauer wonderland party just blew my mind. not that my mind wasn’t filled with unicorns, ponys and rainbows already but just imagine stepping out of the real and entering a wonderworld…. i was wearing my vintage glitter pants with my favorite disco jacket from WE BANDITS. still dreaming about wonderland, woooah.

PEEK & CLOPPENBURG VIENNA

I might not recall all details of last night, due to an open bar and very weird encounters with very weird people. But anyway: I do remember an evening full of fashion, great food and entertainment. Peek & Cloppenburg prepared an incredible opening for their guests. On every floor of the new store on Kaerntnerstrasse they had a stage with music and shows. My highlight? London based singer ROX who impressed both with her amazing suede dress and her voice. The brand new store will officially open tomorrow.

AFA & DEPARTURE FASHION NIGHT

Here’s some photos of two events I attended on thursday and friday. I don’t really have any photos of the Austria Fashion Awards 2011, because apparently we weren’t allowed to take photos sitting by the catwalk. Anyway, you might remember the label meshit, which i introduced in my post here. I am so excited that they actually won one of the prizes. They even got standing ovations, but the super aggressive securities yelled at those guests for getting up. But what really shocked me: the show by writtenafterwards. The designer sent kids down the runway, who did NOT look like they were having fun. The cherry on top was definitely when one of the girls who had to carry knitted cross on her shoulder. It’s not the blasphemy that shocks me, but the fact that those girls shouldn’t be part and tool of such stupidity. Are they already telling 6 year olds now to wear make-up and loose weight? I think a year 6 old girl does not belong to the runway, they belong to things that other kids their age do. Play with their barbies, play in mud, eat cookies and don’t worry about their looks. I think it’s super grotesque. Apart from that fact, the pieces also didn’t impress me at all. At the end of the show the designer sent cave-men-like creatures down the runway, holding a broken paper stick. Is that art? Is every little piece of trashy crap art? To me it’s definitely not.

So in order to get some photos for you readers, the next day, for the departure fashion night, I had to get myself a spot in the photographers area, which was super packed and tiny. The light was bad too, so sorry for blurry photos. My favorite collection was by Petar Petrov, very simple but I loved it. But to be frank: I liked pretty much every collection. There was nothing outstanding terrible… Oh wait. There was. The white, shiny boots. Awful! The other designer were rosa mosa, superated, brandmair and Muehlbauer.

Anyway, I can’t wait to catch up on about a million hours of sleep. I’ll be back feeling more human again 🙂

11FESTIVAL WEDNESDAY

Its midnight and I am trying to put together a nice post with some impressions from today before some holy hours of sleep and getting up at 6 am to take off for another really busy day.

So my highlight today was definitely CHRISTINA BERGER who showed her pieces at Studio Kasulke. The location and set up was very clean and simple, but absolutely expressing her style. I got to talk to the designer for a little bit and really liked her. The motto “less is more” always works. At least for me.

Less exciting was the HIDDEN SALE at Le Meridien. The hotel is quite nice but that sale was pretty much a joke, the mood also a little too snobby/stuck-up for me.

Last but not least, after getting soaked in the rain, I arrived at f6, where also WE BANDITS took place yesterday. The invitation for the CONTINGENCE fashion show said 7pm, so I had to wait for 1 1/2 hours until it actually started. Well I am a talkative person so I wasn’t too devastated. The actual show was… well… interesting. I did like some pieces but some of the models seemed like they were on valium or any other type of tranquilizers, haha. Also I won’t really mention the photos they put up. But: the projections looked really cool and worked really well with the collection.
