a night with diesel

i am invited to showrooms probably every week. a lot of times i end up really disappointed, because they’re pretty much all the same. if i have learned something in marketing class it’s: as a brand you have to be authentic and follow your style. so why do so many companies present their new collections in boring rooms with boring settings? well diesel seems to do their homework when it comes to giving their brand shape. their SS 2012 showrom was a-m-a-z-i-n-g and really spoke for every single piece of their new collection. except from the little delay and having to wait in the cold, what waited for us on the inside was just incredible. a hidden club in the very old town of vienna, with several rooms, models functioning as actors, great cocktails and super nice interior. ufortunately in some rooms the pieces were a little poorly lit, but i guess it was part of the whole athmosphere in there. the collection contains very feminine work dresses, great silk/leather pieces and stylish fabric bags.
the evening at elysium was really a perfect one. the give-away at the end was also pretty cool and because i love my readers i will be giving it to one of you. thanks to diesel for an amazing night.

NELLY PARTY VIENNA

shoes, shoes, shoes. oh my god: shoes. nelly’s high heels tour stopped in vienna last night and gave away 150 pairs of shoes. a little bloggergang, made up by precious isabella from repeatoire, claudia from claudia loves fashion, sophie from swarina, lena & barbara from wien mitte and kate from kate’s fashion blog was there as a jury for the design-contest. the event took place at the box, a club in vienna. the location could have been better, as i am not a fan of pseudo posh clubs. the event itself was fun. thanks to the nelly andrea and the nelly crew!

BACKYARD STORE VIENNA

finally made it to the backyard store. my company was lovely jana from flutsch-that-was-it who’s my new room mate! two blogging girls in one appartment. wow, a dream becoming true. anyway, the backyard store is located in kirchengasse 18, where common people is located. unfortunately all the “good stuff” was already gone, so we didn’t make any good buys, but since it’s still on until january we might be lucky some other time. still really worth to go and check it out.

NOTES ON BITTER PEOPLE

alright, i’d like to be a super spontaneous and incredibly crazy person…. which i am not. really. i love making plans and knowing what to do next. on friday i was like: “oh yeah today i’m gonna be so incredibly hardcore, i am going to see a band i’ve never listened to before! wow!” (yeah i am totally nuts! -> insert sarcasm here <-). crazy me went and saw WHOMADEWHO at flex. they were performing for WAVES VIENNA, which sadly ended on sunday. one thing i know now: being spontaneous really pays off. whomadewho are amazing performers, musicians and entertainers! they really give every cell of their bodies while performing and you can tell: they love what they’re doing.
unfortunately not everything that night was as awesome as whomadewho’s performance. there are some really bitter and unhappy people working at flex. not only was the door staff drunk but also the most unprofessional i’ve seen in a long time. flex is one of europe’s best clubs, but their staff acts like they’re freakin gods. the guy at the door wouldn’t let me get back in to get my coat after the gig and another girl screamed at everyone for standing in the entrance area. there’s nothing wrong with giving people information on what the deal is, but acting that emotional and unfriendly is just sad.

WAVES VIENNA: DAY 1

wow, wow, wow. yesterday: seriously one of the best nights ever. i had quite high expectations for waves but they were even exceeded. first, we went on a ride with the incredible heineken music train. even though there weren’t too many people when we first got in, we had such a blast. the trains that we ride everyday transformed into a party tram! so cool! and then WHEN SAINTS GO MACHINE at flex…woah. i can’t describe what kind of music they make, it’s just the most unique thing ever. after we went on another ride with the music train and ended up at badeschiff, where we stayed a little, hung out by the water and had some beer. tonight i will go and see CITY AND COLOUR at WUK, which i can not wait for. saturday some more waves action and many more things coming up. stay tuned 🙂

thanks to christian for taking some photos of us!
