cold lights

Today I got out of class early, so I managed to spent some time taking photos and editing 🙂 Even though it was freezing out, the light was really beautiful. Also I found some new amazing videos/songs… I stumbled upon Alan Jensen, who does AWESOME videos. The colors, the light, the mood – I love everything about them! The first video on the bottom is by him.

happy weekend!

The weekend’s coming up and I am excited to get some time off again… School and work has started again so I dont really get to do too much. Yesterday I took those couple of hours after Uni at night to get great dinner at Li’s cooking and then some drinks at Orient & Occident (they don’t have a website, sorry) at Naschmarkt. Before I went to American Apparel and got a great casio retro watch and an oversized v-neck shirt (it’s for guys but I love wearing them). I didn’t have time to take proper photos but I will this weekend, promised! Lots of love, have a good weekend 🙂

milan’s fashion and ljubljana’s parties

What a great vacation! I absolutely loved the trip and I can’t believe it was only a week.. We did and saw so much – it felt like I taveled for longer. The sun was shining every single day, blue sky and it felt nice and warm. Milano’s fashion is just so great, women were dressed so tasteful and chic. Next to my regular stops like Marc by Marc Jacobs, Massimo Dutti, Zara etc. I found two new cool shops I fell in love with. The first one is called “My Closet” and is a multi-brand store with really artsy, funky shirts. I got an amazing shirt from “Happiness is a 10$ Tee” for only 24 Euros! Then I also found a pretty in-expensive store called “Subdued”. They had really cute, almost kid-looking, things and more importantly: great fabrics. Lots of angora, cashmere and wool. Also I got a suuuuper cool pair of studded leather boots in a small boutique in old-town….

Anyway, as romantic and wonderful Milano was, we had to leave! On our way to Ljubljana we stopped in Trieste and had lunch by the sea. Ljubljana really surprised us! It’s so small, but there’s so many young people hanging out in the cool, trendy cafés Ljulbljana has to offer. We stayed in a really exciting place called Meltkova, which is an area “without rules”, so it’s very punk. We went to an amazing underground party in an occupied factory… It was truely incredible!

Now I am planing my next trip… Probably Chicago in April 🙂

MY BLOG FAVS

Since I’ve dived into the deep sea of blogs I’ve browsed through tons and tons of blogs. First it’s a great thing to do when you’re bored and second, more importantly, it’s great inspiration. There’s so many talented people out there – it’s hard to keep track! Since I only put things I’ve created myself on my blog I enjoy reading blogs that also show things the blogger herself/himself have created other than blogs where people just post random things. Here’s a selection of my favorite blogs:

1. The Blonde Salad: This blog from Italy is just wonderful. Chiara Ferragni is probably one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Her outfits are amazing and she seems so natural in everything she does.
2. The Sartorialist: Most of you probably know this blog. I love how Scott Schuman captures New Yorks and other cities flair and fashion. The Photos are beautiful and so authentic.
3. Garance Doré:  Garance Doré is a french blogger that has blogged since 2006. I really like the design of her blog.. It’s very simple and still has a very personal touch.
4. Ellecivtoire: Victoire Jin is only 18 years old and a Vienna based blogger. She mainly blogs about fashion but also about music and things happening all over the world. She is also founder of Kneon Magazine, which is wonderfully made. Wow!
5. Victoria Törnegren: I looooove Victoria’s style! It’s so swedish: simple and clean. She really stays true to herself with every post.
6. Lookbook: I think most girls know Lookbook. It’s more a platform for fashion-bloggers from all over the world than a simple blog in itself. I get great inspiration on outfits and photos from there.
7. Nerdcore: It’s hard to define the content of this blog. It’s basically curiosities from all over the place. Not just for people who consider themselves nerds!
8. The Pet Fanclub: The Pet Fanclub is a blog by INDIE Magazine and Material Girl Magazine. Both are independent mags from Austria, which is probably something pretty exotic.
9. Borders and Frontiers: I absolutely love borders and frontiers. They’re a fashion project that gather international designers. They’re shirts are AWESOME and so is their blog.
10. Anmutig: This german blog has lots of cool things on fashion and design. I like this blog so much because Nadine, the author, obviously puts lot of time and passion in her project. There’s always cool tipps on stylish gadgets or new fashion.

Anywaaaaay, I’ve spent my weekend packing and eating lots of persian food.. yumm. Also took some photos while packing.. The camera’s always with me! I’m off for Milan tomorrow, but I will keep you updated 🙂

Sun makes me happy | DOROTHÉE

I LOVE the sun! Being outside, taking walks and reading in the sun… those are definitely my favorites. Today I took a walk on Kahlenberg with Dorothee… She’s my oldest friend, I’ve known her since birth. Dorothee studies fashion design and is such a beautiful and amazing person… even without make-up she has such a photogenic and powerful appearance! So I took some photos of her while walking and getting our feet soaked with water… Brrrrr. On monday I am going to Milano for a couple of days and to Ljubljana after. I can’t wait to take lots of photos, go shopping, see amazing art and of course eat lots 🙂 PS: The video on the bottom was filmed with a Canon 5D Mark II… My dream camera. I love the light and the retro-like style.
